Barnabas Family Ministry
The Barnabas Family Ministry is a Missions Ministry of the Circle of Care.
The Missions Ministries Mission Statement:
Encourage and equip the brethren to proclaim the Gospel to the Lost.
The Barnabas Family Ministry is a ministry designed to involve every family member of every household of West Olive. This ministry reaches out to our local first-time visitors with the hope they will become Christ’s disciples at West Olive. Each local first-time visitor receives a beautiful little basket containing a mini-loaf of homemade sweet bread, a small jar of homemade jelly or jam, some handmade items, and some information about West Olive and the Church of Christ. Thank you cards hand-made by our children are sent to all of our first-time guests who provide a mailing address. Each week we pray for EVERY guest who fills out a Guest Card.
A Barnabas team consisting of 10 – 12 people meets each Tuesday evening at the building to participate in these activities. Teams meet on Tuesday evenings on a weekly rotating basis from September through May. Each team decides among itself whether or not to share a dinner together at the building.
The Barnabas Family Ministry could be the best 75 minutes of your week! You can support the Barnabas Family Ministry in the following ways:
- Make homemade sweet bread loaves
- Make homemade jam or jelly
- Make a crocheted or knitted washcloth, towel-topper or other item to put in the thank you basket
- Participate with a Barnabas team where you will do one of the following:
- Take a basket to a local first-time guest
- Make a card for the first-time guest, both local and out-of-town guests receive a card
- Pray for all of the guests who submitted a Guest card the previous Wednesday and Sunday
- Enjoy fellowship with other brothers and sisters
